PPP Evening
The first PPP - Pink, Passion and Purpose evening was held to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation breast cancer nurses. This was an initiative of Gillian Sloan and the then Committee to assist a SGSWA member diagnosed with breast cancer.
In subsequent years it was been an occasion for members of the Association and friends to get together in the last term of the year. The event has more recently been known simply as the PPP and we still encourage everyone to wear something pink.
It is a fun, informal and often inspiring evening and we welcome all members and friends of the Sydney Grammar Community to join us for something to eat, a drink and a sensational speaker.

2019 PPP - Are you OK my darling child?
THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT
At this special PPP Dinner George Carrick, Old Sydneian (2013) will be joined by Pete Shmigel (Ex-CEO Lifeline) and Dan Price, mental health advocate, to discuss the topic of youth mental health and how, as parents, we can support our beautiful children who may be in the grip of anxiety or depression.
George, 23 is currently studying Psychology at ANU and has bravely agreed to share his story of anxiety, depression and his recovery with us.
Pete Shmigel, currently on the board of two mental health charities as well CEO of the Australian Council of Recycling, advisor to nine Premiers and Ministers and ex-CEO of Lifeline, is a man who has seen much success in his life - and has close experience of youth mental health with his own son’s illness and recovery. Pete and George will help us understand how to recognise anxiety in our children, what we can do to help, and where we can go to find support.
Dan Price is a survivor of an attempt to end his life that in 2014 saw him atop the Harbour Bridge. Dan seemed to have it all, but he was in the grip of a terrible anxiety. His journey towards recovery is truly inspirational. Dan is a father to a baby daughter, Talulah Wilde and an ambassador for RUOK? Day, Movember and Livin’ Org.
The PPP is a night of connection and community for the Sydney Grammar School’s Women’s Association.
Funds raised on the night will be donated equally between Men’s Mental Health Forum and Lou’s Place, a community based refuge for women in crisis. We hope to see you there.

What does the future look like?
No one has a crystal ball, so of course we can't say for certain what the future will be like for us and those we love. But some people, through their experience or opportunities, are a bit better placed than most to give us an indication of what the future may be like for business, technology, art, rural Australia and our most blessed resource - our children and also what they want for their own futures.
Join three experts in their field who will reveal their insights then answer your questions on the future. Bring your questions along and share this wonderful night with your friends.
